Counselling
If you are a partner, relative or friend of someone who is experiencing alcohol or drug related problems you may find that caring for them can be confusing, frustrating and sometimes lonely. ASCA's counselling service provides carers with expert advice, information and counselling support to enable carers to best cope with someone who has an alcohol or drug problem. Counselling is confidential and is free to any carer who lives in Richmond.
Carers Support Group
ASCA will shortly be running a support group for carers of people with alcohol or drug problems. The group will be run weekly and facilitated by an ASCA counsellor. The purpose of the group will be to help members to share experiences and learn from each other. The group will be open to carers only and will focus on:
• Coping with living with someone with an alcohol or drug problem
• Setting boundaries and keeping to them
• Planning how to get support
Individual Holistic Therapies
ASCA also provides a range of holistic therapies for carers including:
• Massage - 30 minutes
• Reflexology - 45 minutes
• Acupuncture - 45 minutes
