Day Service Groups

Week-End Review (Monday) - the first group of the week and open to all. Clients are invited to take time to process their week-end and to look at specific emotional issues.

Relapse Prevention (Monday) - In this group the emphasis is on developing strategies to prevent relapse. Where a client has relapsed, that client is encouraged to analyse the relapse and what led up to it, so that useful lessons can be learned for the future.

Men's / Women's Groups (Tuesday) - Clients are encouraged to bring to these groups issues which they may find difficult to explore in a mixed group and also to look at the role that gender issues have played in their substance dependency.

Creativity and Life Skills (Tuesday) - This group is for those who are in the relatively early stages of recovery, giving them the opportunity to look in detail at planning their time away from the centre.

Drama Therapy (Wednesday) - Offers clients a creative opportunity for self discovery.

Weekend Planning (Thursday) - This group offers clients time to plan their weekends, where challenging situations may arise, and support eachother to find strategies for coping in comfort and safety.

Focus Group (Friday) - In this group clients who have moved beyond the early stages of recovery are invited to explore issues relating to their ongoing personal development.

Clients' Business Meeting (Friday) - This weekly meeting is held on a Friday and all Day Programme clients are encouraged to attend. It is an informal meeting, which provides the opportunity to raise any concerns, questions and ideas about the current service. Minutes of the meeting are taken by clients
