Interventions

In the day service groups, which constitute an important part of the programme, clients are invited to explore the issues underlying their alcohol use and, where applicable, other drug use.

In addition to the various groups and organised activities, the Day Service offers the opportunity for clients to use non-structured time to develop their social skills and to give and receive peer support.
Whereas the majority of clients attend the full programme to start with, we are able to offer a tailor-made response to individual clients' needs.

Each client, on joining the Day Programme, is given a keyworker, who meets regularly with him/her to draw up and review a contract of attendance, assist in the formulation of short-term goals and monitor progress.
Those who do start by attending full-time will reach a point where they begin to reduce the time spent on the programme, usually spending time on other activities, such as training courses, in preparation for moving on.
