Referral Process

ASCA takes referrals either directly from clients themselves, or from professionals, ie. Community Drug and Alcohol Teams, Community Mental Health Teams, Probation staff or GPs.

All clients are assessed prior to entry into the day service.

At assessment it may be determined that a detoxification prior to attending the Day Programme is needed. In this case, ASCA staff will support clients with this process.

Clients can begin their programme either after assessment, immediately following detoxification, following on from a period of a period of residential rehabilitation, or between detoxification and residential rehabilitation.

What to do next

To book an initial assessment, just give us a call.
We take referrals from individuals, concerned others or from Social Services or GPs.

We may take some personal details from you, especially contact details, prior to offering you an appointment.
Your call however will be treated confidentially.

The assessment allows us to find out more about your needs and allows you to find out more about how you can be supported.

If counselling is right for you we will allocate you a counsellor who will be available to see you on a weekly basis.

Depending on demand we may have a waiting list for counselling. While you are waiting you can attend our evening support group or contact us to see a member of our team on a one-off basis.

We provide advice as well as support so call us if you have a general query or wish to find out more about substances or the services we offer.
