Alcohol and Drug Counselling in your GP Surgery

We are part of a new partnership with Richmond and Twickenham Primary Care Trust and Kingston Primary Care Trust to provide addiction counselling in GP surgeries.

We are here to explore with clients how they feel about their drinking or drug use and whether they have any concerns about it, particularly regarding health and welfare.

We are available to provide advice, information and counselling to people who think they may have a problem with alcohol or drugs.

This could mean giving information about sensible drinking limits; about the effects of alcohol or drugs on health, or providing advice and support to those who want to cut down their drinking or drug use or stop altogether.

We can also refer clients to specialist services. In addition, we are available to see and offer support to people who are affected by someone else's alcohol or drug use such as a partner, relative or close friend.

We can offer brief therapy at the surgery and if longer term counselling is required then we can refer you to ASCA who can provide ongoing counselling, evening support groups and a day service.
