 Alcohol telephone advice service Kingston

Addiction Support and Care Agency (ASCA) is a small local established voluntary sector organisation providing a range of confidential services to those who have an alcohol and/drug misuse problem as well as those affected by someone else’s substance misuse be they carers, family members or friends.

ASCA and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames Public Health provide an alcohol telephone advice service.

Residents who may be concerned about their drinking are being encouraged to use the borough’s website where they can request a call back from an ASCA counsellor who will offer telephone advice and further support. The website can also be used by carers, family members and friends who may be concerned about someone else’s drinking.

The website contains a confidential and anonymous questionnaire designed to assess drinking levels, any risks to health and a drink diary and goal setter tool enabling drinkers to see how much cash and calories they save if they reduce their drinking. They can also receive weekly safe-drinking tips by email or text as well as the opportunity to talk to a counsellor.

The telephone advice service can be accessed via e-drink-check.kingston.gov.uk (Press ctrl and right click on link) website for Kingston
